An investigation is underway in Texas after a married couple’s bodies were found in their home on Tuesday.

KTRK reported that police were performing a welfare check at a Conroe home when the man and woman’s bodies were discovered. Officials did not disclose their identities or how long they believe they had been dead.

The Houston Chronicle reported that the couple was elderly. Deputies said the bodies were in a “decomposing state” when they were discovered.

The deceased couple will be named once police complete their investigation. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
