A Wisconsin woman whose 7-year-old son was shot last month appeared in court on Wednesday.
Amanda Krebs’ recent preliminary hearing was adjourned and rescheduled because she did not have a lawyer. Outside of court, WITI questioned her about what led up to the June 25 shooting in her Milwaukee home that left her son with non-life-threatening injuries.
“I don’t have **** to say,” Krebs, 37, stated.
According to a criminal complaint, Krebs’ 7-year-old son said he fired the gun thinking it was a toy. However, a witness allegedly told police that Krebs fired the gun and wounded her son.
WITI reported that Krebs‘ lawyer said in court that she was not in the room when the shooting occurred.
Prosecutors have alleged that Krebs — a mother of six — lived in a home infested with bedbugs and cockroaches. Police also reported seeing standing sewage in the basement, according to WITI.
At some point, Krebs allegedly told police that her 7-year-old son does not attend school.
Krebs is charged with child neglect and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. She is due back in court on July 27.
