A 17-year-old Idaho boy was shot and killed Wednesday morning by another juvenile who was “handling” a gun.
Idaho Falls Police and Fire EMS rushed to the scene at about 10:20 a.m., the Post Register reported.
The teen was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police did not disclose any information about the shooter, citing privacy concerns, while the Bonneville County Coroner’s Office provided the victim’s age.
Idaho Falls Police are investigating the incident. They have not provided any information about the gun’s ownership or how the two juveniles came to have access to a loaded firearm.
They did say the weapon was a handgun.
