Gannon Stauch: Murdered Colorado Boy’s Dad Speaks Out After ‘Evil’ YouTuber Sells Autopsy Photos

In an interview with NewsNation’s Brian Entin last night on “Dan Abrams Live,” Gannon Stauch’s father condemned the “evil” YouTuber selling his late son’s autopsy photos online, reportedly for $3 each.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, YouTuber Zav Girl reportedly filed a Freedom of Information Act request to get the photos from the autopsy and then charged her subscribers to view a video she created from the files she received. The video created a surge of criticism, much of it condemning the video for the callousness it showed to Gannon Stauch’s family.

Al Stauch told Entin that the YouTuber is ‘”dishonoring” his son’s memory.

“This is about Gannon, this is not about anyone’s opinions, or if you view it as a scientific discussion. This is about respect for a little boy who tragically lost his life and did not deserve this,” he said.

“For the family that survives Gannon, it is retraumatizing. We just finished the trial two months ago and now we’re having to relive this stuff, we’re not able to put it behind us.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Gannon’s stepmother, Letecia Stauch, stabbed, beat, shot, and killed him inside the family’s Fountain, Colorado, home in January 2020. She then took great measures to cover up her crimes by blaming numerous imaginary people and driving to Florida, where she tossed Gannon’s body, stuffed inside a suitcase, over a bridge in Pace.

A Colorado jury convicted Stauch of first-degree murder and related charges earlier this year. She’s since been taken to the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility, where she will serve out a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

“There are, there have always been, and there will always be evil ghouls taking advantage of innocent victims,” CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace said, following the YouTuber’s actions.

“It’s called ‘BLOOD-MONEY,’ and while many do not consider it a crime, I DO. Those who have used sweet Gannon in this horrid manner have bought a ONE-WAY TICKET TO HELL!”

Zav Girl reportedly removed the video and her Patreon account is also now gone from the platform. It’s not clear if she removed it or if she was suspended. Her YouTube account remains on that platform.

After word about her post spread, she added a post to her YouTube channel saying she would “consider” removing the video “if people are truly unhappy with it.”

But, she said, “Right now it seems that there are a lot of other people who are acting in bad faith and creating lies for fun and excitement in order to pit others against me.”

She also defended her actions, saying she thinks “of autopsy photos and the coroner discussing/explaining them as interesting and informative and are able to view it all in a more scientific detached way” and pointed out that she is not simply selling autopsy photos via her Patreon account.

“The word I use to describe it is evil. The world got enough information from the trial to have every discussion they want to have. Why do we need to go and have freedom of information requests and pay for this kind of information and dishonor my son by putting these photos out there?” Al Stauch said.
