Police in Alabama are looking for a woman who disappeared after calling 911 to report seeing a toddler walking alongside Interstate 459 in Hoover.
Hoover Police said Carlethia “Carlee” Russell, 25, stopped her car near mile marker 11 to check on the child and called a family member after she called 911 at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, WBRC reported. The family member lost contact with Russell, but the phone line remained open.
Hoover officers were already en route on the report of the toddler and found Russell’s vehicle and some of her belongings nearby. The did not, however, find her or a child in the area, and have not received any calls about a missing child.
Russell is described at 5 feet 4 inches and 150 to 160 pounds and was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants and white Nike shoes.
AL.com reported that Russell’s phone, Apple watch, and purse were still in side her vehicle.
