A man and a woman in Texas have been charged with kidnapping an 18-year-old woman and holding her chained and zip-tied for a month while sexually assaulting her.
Harris County constables initially said the woman first met Jose Reyes, 31, who gained her trust and then lured her to his house, KPRK reported. Additional interviews revealed that the teen had decided to move to Reyes’ home to further her relationship with him, but when she got there, she learned he was in a relationship with Jaqueline Macias, 29.
The tried to leave, but Reyes and Macias held her captive. Constables said she was chained to a bed and forced to have sex repeatedly for about 30 days. The couple left on Sunday night, and the teen got out of her restraints, climbed out and bedroom window, and escaped.
She told investigators that she knocked on multiple doors in the neighborhood until one neighbor agreed to call 911.
When the suspects returned to the house about 10 minutes later, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said, they were arrested. Herman called the case an “evil thing.”
A hearing officer set Reyes’s bond at $100,000 and Macias’s at $50,000. Investigators said more charges are possible pending medical tests.
