An 18-year-old Georgia woman is behind bars after police say she ran over a woman at a Cobb County mall on Sunday.
According to Channel 2 Action News, police arrested 18-year-old Vanessa Robinson, of Fariburn, and her charged with murder in the commission of a felony and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident unfolded at Cumberland Mall parking lot on Sunday night, when Robinson intentionally rammed her vehicle into 25-year-old Paige Jenkins, of Douglasville, according to police.
“She almost hit me with her car first, and she had said something along the lines of, ‘Watch where you are going’,” Jenkins’ sister, Kecia Lewis, told FOX 5. “And I said, ‘I’m the pedestrian you watch where you are going’, and shooed her off. And she had exchanged some words and that’s when Paige heard us arguing, and she came back and said, ‘Watch where you are going.’”
Lewis said the defendant then drove away but circled back around.
“We see them pull around, and she stops for like a second and then my sister just hit the car,” Lewis said. “She ran over my sister’s body.”
Jenkins was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Fairburn police assisted Cobb police in arresting Robinson on Monday. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Cobb police at (770) 499-3945.
