A New York man who disappeared after a concert in Brooklyn Saturday night was found dead on Tuesday in a nearby creek.
John Castic, a 27-year-old Goldman Sachs analyst, was last seen on video walking down the street after the Zeds Dead concert at the Brooklyn Mirage venue, WPIX reported. Police found his body floating in Newtown Creek, a few blocks from the venue and the same creek where another man was found dead in June.
Karl Clemente was turned away from the Brooklyn Mirage on June 11 and found dead in the creek a week later, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
“I don’t know what the police are doing or the investigation, but it’s the second time in two months and it’s horrifying,” Cooper Robinson, who was at the same concert as Castic on Saturday, told WPIX. “I don’t think the music has anything to do with it. I think it’s about safety in the surrounding area.”
Jennifer Gutierrez, who represents the area where the venue is in city council, said she was working to put together a meeting with local club owners to determine what can be done to improve safety.
“It’s heartbreaking to learn that people are coming to enjoy anything in the neighborhood or venue and then not returning home safely,” she said.
