Teen Boy Shot Dead in the Street, Body Left for 90 Minutes Before Authorities Called

Police in a small east Texas town have arrested three adults and two juveniles in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy last month.

Dispatchers were called about a body lying in the road just after 1:30 a.m. on June 7, although the body had been in the street for more than 90 minutes, with cars driving around him and people taking photos and videos, before authorities were called.

Investigators found the boy, dead from a gunshot to the chest, when they arrived and began canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses, KITV reported.

This week, police arrested two juveniles, charging them both with engaging in organized criminal activity for robbery. The adults — Tyra Valentine, 24; Diamond Roach, 32; and Alexander Morrison, 50 — were charged with failure to report human remains.

Marshall Police said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released later. The victim’s identity has not been released because of his age.
