A man who reportedly discovered a body in the search for missing Maryland mother Rachel Morin recently described the gruesome crime scene to local media.
Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler, however, disputes Michael Gabriszeski’s account, saying that he neither found Morin’s body or saw the crime scene, as CrimeOnline reported.
Gabriszeski, whose daughter was friends with Morin, told WMAR he, his daughter, and a friend joined the search on Sunday after Morin, 37, was reported missing by her boyfriend late Saturday night. Gabriszeski said the body was found in a drain tunnel at the Ma and Pa trail in Bel Air, as Crime Online previously reported.
According to WBFF, Gabriszeski’s daughter found the body within an hour. He told the news outlet that the body was in a pool of blood and had severe head trauma — which he believes was caused by a rock or baseball bat. He went on to tell the Daily Mail that the body was fully naked.
“My daughter said that there was a big rock down there that was all caked in blood,” he commented.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said investigators have no suspects in Morin’s murder. Officials have not said how Morin died.
Morin’s boyfriend, who has not been charged in connection with her disappearance on death, has taken to social media to proclaim his innocence. However, Gabriszeski told WBFF that based on the crime scene, the killer is someone known to Morin.
He said, “If somebody were just to do a thrill kill, it wouldn’t be as brutal as what we witnessed.”
