The husband of an Alaska soldier who vanished on Sunday has been charged with her murder, police announced on Friday.
Zarrius Hildabrand was arrested for Saria Hildabrand’s slaying after Anchorage police visited the 21-year-olds’ apartment on Thursday. Family members said Zarrius Hildabrand, an Army soldier, was the last person to see his wife — who is an Alaska Army National Guardsman, according to Alaska Public Media.
KTUU reported that Saria Hildabrand’s body was found prior to her husband’s arrest. Her family said she was last heard from on Sunday night, near her apartment. Police believe she went to work that morning but left behind her phone, something her family said was out of character.
A day before his arrest, Zarrius Hildabrand allegedly posted a missing person flyer for his wife on Facebook.
“Updated information on my missing wife PLEASE SHARE AND REPOST!!!!!!” he wrote.
Right now, it is unclear where Saria Hildabrand’s body was found or how she died. Zarrius Hildabrand is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and evidence tampering
