A Queens mom collapse while celebrating her 35th birthday last month in an illegal after-hours club, where workers dragged her into a back room and left her instead of calling 911.
Video that circulated on social media showed people slapping an unresponsive Stephanie Quinones in the face, The New York Post reported.
Eventually, the unnamed club’s bartender sent a photo of the unconscious woman to her mother in Florida and texted her sister to “Come get your drunk sister.”
When the sister, Jasmine Gonzalez, arrived at the club two hours later, club employees fled, locking her inside with Quinones’s body.
“I was doing compressions on a dead person,” Gonzalez said. “Everyone left me alone. No one even had the decency to stay.”
Gonzalez told The Post she thinks her sister was already dead when the videos were posted.
“She didn’t have any reaction at all [in the video],” she said. “Usually people have a reaction.”
Quinones was the mother of a 12-year-old daughter.
“Someone would still have their mother if they just called 911,” said Gonzalez. “The thing that hurts me the most is, not only did they not call 911, but it was cruel to have me go over there, giving me hopes that she was alive.”
New York police and the medical examiner are still investigating the death.
