A Texas husband has been charged with beating a man to death over the weekend after learning he was having an affair with his wife.
Harris County deputies found the body of 32-year-old Francisco Antonio Serrano Romero in a “detached structure” on property owned by Narciso Cruz Banos, 49, and his wife, 42-year-old Francisca Salazar Carrizales after Romero’s wife called and asked for a welfare check, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales said.
Banos was charged with murder, aggravated kidnapping, and tampering with evidence, and Carrizales was charged with tampering with evidence after both admitted involvement in Romero’s death.
According to a criminal complaint, Banos learned of Romero’s affair with his wife and bound his “arms with straps and a belt and struck the Complainant about the head, face and body with Defendants hands, feet, and with a blunt object,” Law & Crime reported.
KHOU reported that Romero’s wife said that he called her and sounded injured last week, reportedly telling her he was staying at his boss’s house Thursday night and would head to work the next morning.
When Romero failed to show up for work the next day, she called Banos, the complaint says, who told her about the affair and said he had pistol-whipped her husband.
Officers arrived on the scene and found Romero dead and wrapped in plastic in the “detached structure,” which appeared to be a shipping container.
