On Thursday, Florida officials announced that the ex-wife of slain Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan has been charged with his murder.
Jared Bridegan, 33, was fatally shot after he dropped off his twin 9-year-olds at Shanna Gardner-Fernandez’s Jacksonville Beach home on February 16, 2022. The Florida Times-Union reported that Gardner-Fernandez was arrested in Washington on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony, and child abuse.
Gardner-Fernandez’s husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana, was arrested on the same charges in March. Fernandez Saldana’s arrest came the same day officials announced that Henry Arthur Tenon, 62, admitted to killing Bridegan.
According to WJXT, Bridgean was shot multiple times at close range as he tried to move a tire blocking the road. Bridgean’s toddler daughter, who was in his car at the time, was unharmed.
Fernandez Saldana was reportedly Tenon’s landlord, and he allegedly wrote out three checks to him following Bridegan’s murder. WJXT also reported that the men spoke on the phone 70 times before the shooting.
Gardner-Fernandez will be extradited to Duval County, Florida to face charges. State Attorney Melissa Nelson said they are seeking the death penalty in her and her husband’s cases.
