A Florida woman was arrested Friday morning and charged with spiking a man’s drinks with roach spray.
Volusia County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in DeLeon Springs at about 4:30 a.m. and were met by a man who told them that he had been out drinking at a bar with Veronica Cline, 29, who invited him to continue drinking at home.
The man told deputies he had two drinks and began to feel sick, and Cline then told him she’d put Raid roach spray into his drinks.
The victim told deputies he vomited for about 30 minutes before he could call for help. Deputies said he again vomited while giving his statement. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Cline was not in the house when deputies arrived. A K-9 unit tracked her down outside, and she was taken into custody.
She’d being held without bond pending arraignment on a charge of poisoning food or drink.
