An Ohio woman was found dead in Tennessee over the weekend after she was believed to have been kidnapped.
Cincinnati police said they responded to a report of shots fired late Friday night and “found evidence of a shooting and a possible kidnapping.”
Investigators said the victim, later identified as 36-year-old Kaitlyn Ashley Lynch, “might have been injured and held against her will in a vehicle that was taken.”
Andrew Kenton, who lives in the area, told WCPO he “heard five shots and an immediate two afterwards.”
WSMV said that the vehicle, registered to Lynch, was located on Saturday in Wilson County, Tennessee, and led officers on a multi-county chase before spike strips stopped the car on Interstate 40 in Cheatham County.
Lance Mason Miller, 32, was found inside the vehicle with Lynch’s body, WCPO reported.
Miller faces murder and kidnapping charges in Ohio and is currently behind bars on Wilson County, Tennessee, where he faces evading arrest, abuse of a corpse, and fugitve charges, according to jail records.
The nature of his relationship with Lynch is unclear, and it’s not known when he will be extradited to Ohio.
