A Pennsylvania mom was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning in southwest Phildaelphia’s Eastwick neighborhood.
Police say Ashley McLean-Gaylor, 27, was exiting another vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. when she stepped in front of a passing car that struck her, according to WCAU. The driver briefly paused but then fled, they said. McLean-Gaylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was found Saturday afternoon, police said, but they have not released any information about possible suspects, WTXF said.
McLean-Gaylor’s mother, Leslie Gaylor, is a Folcroft Borough police officer, and the Delaware County police union launched a GoFundMe to help pay for funeral expenses. The union said McLean-Gaylor had two young daughters and was engaged to be married.
A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information should call the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS.
