A Kansas man was charged with murder on Saturday after his 19-year-old girlfriend was found dead in the trunk of his car.
Wichita Police said officers were dispatched to Alexander Lewis’s apartment when a 911 operator in North Carolina got a call from a woman reporting that her son may have harmed his girlfriend. Police were dispatched to Lewis’s apartment and to the girlfriend’s apartment, arriving at Lewis’s at about 11:30 a.m.
Officers attempted CPR, but the woman was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later. Police have not released her name pending notification of family.
Police spokesperson Juan Rebolledo said Lewis, 22, was cooperative. The woman showed no obvious signs of trauma, but an autopsy will determine cause of death. Rebolledo said there was also some speculation that she may have been pregnant, but that was not obvious and will also wait for an autopsy, the Wichita Eagle reported.
