An Oklahoma woman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl in videos discovered by the victim’s father.
According to KOCO, the father went to Stillwater police after finding the illicit videos and photos of his daughter on Ashlee Cheatham’s phone as she slept. Cheatham, 19, allegedly admitted to the crimes following her arrest, and cops do not believe she has additional victims.
The Kansas City Star reported that the victim’s father recently met Cheatham online and she was living with him at the time of her arrest.
Cheatham allegedly had a profile on Nanny Lane, which is a website where users can provide babysitting services. KFOR reported last week that Cheatham’s profile had not been deactivated.
According to KOCO, Cheatham recently applied to work as a paraprofessional at Nicoma Park Elementary School. However, the school district announced that they ended the hiring process, noting that Cheatham never worked with children.
Cheatham is charged with sexual abuse of a child under 12, making or distributing types of obscene material or child pornography, possession of marijuana, and violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. She remains jailed.
