On Monday, a Georgia judge ordered the release of the grand jury report that details the evidence against former President Donald Trump and 18 defendants who allegedly tried to overturn results in the 2020 election.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney said that the report could be released as early as September 6 if no objections are made. However, the release is tentatively scheduled for September 8, according to Atlanta News First.
Last September, McBurney ordered the grand jury report sealed as the district attorney completed their investigation. However, the 19 defendants — including Trump and ex-NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani — were formally charged earlier this month with racketeering for conspiring to change the 2020 election results. Trump, who was booked into Fulton County jail, is currently free on $200,000 bond.
Monday’s order is posted in full below. Continuing coverage can be read here.
