An Arizona teacher has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor who was a former student.
The Payson Unified School District was tipped off to middle school teacher Miles Huff’s behavior on August 14 and launched an investigation, AZFamily.com reported.
He was arrested on Tuesday after investigators investigators interviewed witnesses and victims.
The school district released a statement about situation, saying it “immediately notified the Payson Police Department of these rumors and then placed Mr. Huff on administrative leave pending a thorough investigation.
“Our entire school community is stunned by these recent developments. We will continue to prioritize students’ education in a safe environment,” the district said. “We are grateful to the courageous individuals who brought this to our attention and urge anyone else with potential information to cooperate with the Payson Police Department.”
Police said the investigation is ongoing and there are “large amounts of evidence” to sort through. They asked anyone with information to contact them at (928) 474-5177.
