A 4-year-old Texas girl’s drowning death possibly played a role in Monday’s apparent murder-suicide that claimed the lives of her parents and two brothers.
Farman and Layla Sherwani, and their sons Mateen Sherwani, 2, and Shaheen Sherwani, 12, were found dead at their Allen home after a family member who lived there called the police because they were locked out for two hours and nobody answered the door. Police described their deaths as a shooting, according to KDFW.
The Islamic Association of Allen revealed to The Dallas Morning News that the couple’s daughter, Lyian Sherwani, 4, drowned in a pool three weeks earlier. Allen police Sgt. Jonathan Manes said the girl’s drowning death was a role in Monday’s shooting, though it is unclear who pulled the trigger.
Monday’s shooting remains under investigation.
