The 14-year-old son of “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans reportedly vanished in North Carolina on Monday — marking the second time he has disappeared in two weeks.
TMZ reported that Evans, 31, called the police after she did not hear from Jace for several hours after he left home. The teen is believed to have roamed around his mother’s large property before cops located him at a gas station about 10 minutes away.
“The family is fine,” Evans’ manager told E! News. “Nothing to be alarmed about. Jace is a teenager finding his independence, wanting a bit more freedom, and Jenelle is a momma bear.”
According to the tabloid, a runaway report was filed for Jace in Brunswick County on August 15. That time, Jace was unaccounted for after leaving school.
Evans told TMZ that her son possibly ran away after being punished for his behavior at school
“Jace, got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that’s when he decided to run off, Jace is a good kid and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children, this has absolutely nothing to do with my situation with [my husband] David [Eason], we do not argue in front of our children or fight in front of our kids,” she said.
According to TMZ, Evans regained full custody of Jace in March. Evans’ mother reportedly had custody of her grandson due to Evans’ financial, personal, and legal issues she had when she was younger.
