An elderly California couple vanished on Wednesday while on their way to a fruit stand.
Jose and Maria Dutra set off for Casa De Fruta in Gilroy and last spoke with their daughter by phone at about 10:30 p.m., KION reported.
At that time, they said they were in a parking lot with a Target and a Jack in the Box.
“Maria may be beginning to suffer from Dementia but has not been treated for it. Jose has been diagnosed with Dementia and is prescribed medication but it is believed that he does not have it with him,” Gilroy Police said.
The Dutras are traveling in a light brown or gold 2011 Honda CRV with a California tag number 6RWS841. Police said the vehicle may have front end damage that was repaired with silver duct tape.
Anyone who sees the couple should contact Gilroy Police Department at 408-846-0350. Case number 23-3886
