A California woman who gained recognition for her role in a multimillion-dollar equestrian venture is accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband.
On August 2, the San Diego County County Sheriff’s Department arrested Tatyana Remley, 42, for allegedly soliciting someone to kill her husband, Mark Remley, at some point between between July 1 and August 2.
Police arrested Remley at a Starbucks on Loma Santa Fe in Solana Beach, The Coast New Group reports.
According to court documents, the couple is in the midst of a divorce, initiated by Tatyana Remley in May. In court filings submitted in La Jolla, Remley’s lawyer stated that Remley was in fear of her life, according to ABC 10.
“(Mark) held a gun to petitioner’s head, threatening to kill her, in front of an employee. (Mark) has also chased petitioner around the house with a knife, trying to kill her,” a court document read.
Remley is asking the court to make Mark pay $15,000 in spousal support a month, to help her uphold a luxurious lifestyle she has grown accustomed to. She indicated that she’s under “extreme financial strain” while having to pay $12,000 in monthly expenses.
Court documents indicate that Remley’s monthly expenses include personal assistants, drivers, and bodyguards. She argued that Mark, who reportedly has over $8 million in assets, should help her pay.
A criminal complaint obtained by Law & Crime states that the defendant has also been charged with carrying and concealing three unregistered firearms in her car and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in public.
The latest charges comes after Remley’s previous incarceration in June for felony vehicle theft.
Remley pleaded not guilty to the charges during her arraignment earlier this month. She remains behind bars without bail.
In 2012, the Remley couple gained attention for orchestrating a mobile equestrian event named “Valitar in Del Mar.” The show was quickly canceled, however, plunging the couple into lawsuit battles with vendors who claimed they didn’t get paid.
The pair later launched the Rhythm and Power cycling studio in 2015, but by 2016, the business shut down.
