Mother Searches How to ‘Dismember’ Body Parts Before Killing 9-year-old Daughter, Cooking Her Remains: Police

A Brazilian mother accused of killing her daughter reportedly searched online on how to dismember a body before fatally stabbing her.

According to The Express, police arrested 30-year-old Ruth Floriano Saturday, in connection with the death of her daughter, Alany Silva, 9. San Paolo police said parts of the child’s body were hidden inside a refrigerator in the defendant’s Sao Paulo home, discovered by her current boyfriend’s mother.

When questioned, Floriano initially denied involvement and allegedly claimed she met a man on a dating app who came to her home around a month prior. After taking drugs with the man, according to Floriano, she woke up to find her daughter dead.

When taken to an interview at the police station, Floriano reportedly changed her story and said while high on drugs, she decided to kill the child, at some point between August 8 or August 9. The incident purportedly happened because the victim “refused” to be separated from her father, who has not yet been identified, but said to be a Sao Paulo resident.

Police said Floriano admitted that she started stabbing Alany in the chest while the child brushed her teeth. After the child died, Floriano searched online for instructions on how to dismember a body.

She then dismembered the victims, cooked some of her remains, then placed the rest of the remains in the refrigerator and down a sewer, police said.

Investigators added that the body parts were found in the refrigerator at a new home that Floriano had recently moved into. She’s accused of carrying the remains, wrapped up in a sheet and ribbons, while moving her belongings and her other children to the new home, Sao Paulo Globe reports.

According to Floriano’s sister, Aline Floriano, the defendant stabbed her former boyfriend around three months ago, although he consistently cared for Alany, according to DailyMail.

“He had a love for Alany, it was something inexplicable, you saw pictures of them together and thought they were father and daughter, there’s no way,” Aline Floriano said. “She said it was, from what I hear, it was to hit…hurt, and she did.”

Following her arrest on murder charges, Floriano’s two other children were taken into child protective custody.
