A Florida Pizza Hut manager is facing charges after police say he sent nude photos to a minor employee before sexually assaulting her inside the restaurant’s bathroom.
The Osceola Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that 32-year-old Calvin Cooke was arrested on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, unlawful sexual activity with a minor, transmitting information harmful harmful to a minor, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Fox 35 Orlando reports that police said the incident happened August 22 at a Pizza Hust close to the west side area of Osceola. When responding officers arrived at the scene, the victim, identified as a 16-year-old employee, told them Cooke told her to clean the bathroom, then followed her inside and shut the bathroom door.
“He told the victim to clean the female bathroom. When the victim went into the bathroom he followed her and shut the door. While in the bathroom he committed sex acts upon the victim,” Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said.
Cooke is accused of flirting with the teen on Snapchat shortly after she started working at the restaurant, then allegedly offered her an electronic cigarette before sexually assaulting her. Police said she had only been working at the restaurant when the incident happened.
Another employee at the restaurant reportedly noticed what happened and told the girl’s parents when they arrived to pick her up from work.
“They [the victim’s parents] called 911. When detectives spoke to the victim she said she was worried about making him upset and was concerned about her job,” Lopez continued.
“The actions of this individual are not only disgusting and disturbing beyond words can describe, but they are the betrayal and disruption of trust we put into adults.”
Lopez said he’s concerned that there may be additional victims and he wants to “make sure he’s held accountable and responsible if he has committed these acts on anybody else.”
Cooke reportedly admitted that he knew that the victim was underage.
Anyone with information on the current case is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477). Anyone else who has been a victim of Cooke’s should contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department.
