Country star Zach Bryan was arrested in Oklahoma Thursday.
According to TMZ, Bryan was arrested in Vinita, Oklahoma, for obstruction of an investigation.
On Friday, Bryan released a video on Twitter explaining the situation. He said he had a run-in with police prior to the arrest — on Wednesday — when he was stopped for speeding and initially refused to give the officers his address. After they put him in handcuffs, he relented, The Tennessean reported.

“It frustrated me a lot because I didn’t know if I had a right to refuse him my address or not,” the singer said.
The next day, Bryan and his dog Jack were traveling to Boston, driving behind his “bodyguard,” who was pulled over by Oklahoma State troopers in Vinita. Bryan said he waited “10 to 15 minutes” and eventually got out of his vehicle to smoke a cigarette. Troopers told him to get back in or he’d go to jail.
“Like a dumbass, I said, ‘Take me to f****** jail? What do you mean’,” he says in the video.
Bryan says he got angry and started “mouthing off” when he was again cuffed and put into the back of a patrol vehicle.
“I didn’t help my situation at all. I felt like a child,” he says.
“I was just an idiot and I’ll take the fall for it. I’m a grown man and I shouldn’t behave like that and it won’t happen again,” the singer says.
Bryan said early in the video he wanted to be “completely transparent” about what happened and repeatedly said he “acted like a child.” On Thursday night, he released a statement on social media.
“Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said.
I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around.
Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”
