A Florida woman stripped, grabbed her 3-year-old nephew, and jumped into Biscayne Bay Thursday morning in a misguided attempted to avoid police.
Miami Police identified the woman as 27-year-old Natalia Marina and said the incident took place just after 8:30 a.m. when officers responded to a mischief call, WSVN reported. Miami Police Capt. Freddie Cruz said they were told a woman “was causing some sort of damage, breaking things inside a building.”
At around 8:30am officers responded to a female acting erratically at 609 Brickell Key Drive. Upon police arrival the female took off her clothes and jumped into the bay with her nephew.

According to WSVN, Marina was at the location with her sister and her sister’s son.
“Once the officers got there, they made contact with her, and she actually began swishing the officers away, taking off her clothes and, with her 3-year-old nephew, actually jumped into the water,” Cruz said. “That was very disturbing. If you see the video, you see the child crying. There’s nothing normal about this.”
Marina’s sister also jumped into the water, but Marina, holding onto the toddler, swam across the bay and tried to fight off officers working to get them out of the water. Eventually, officers rescued them and took them to a hospital to be checked out.
Marina has been charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest without violence.
