“Crime Stories” host Nancy Grace weighed in on the ongoing search for an escaped Pennsylvania inmate who has been implicated in two murders.
Grace appeared on “America Reports” to talk about Danelo Cavalcante, 34, who escaped from Chester County Prison on August 31 as he awaited to be transferred to state prison where he would serve a life sentence for fatally stabbing his girlfriend in 2021. Grace said that since his escape, Cavalcante has shown up on Ring doorbell footage and deer cams — and the videos show that he has changed his appearance.
“He should have been in prison,” Grace said. “He shot a guy six times…in Brazil. Here, he stabs his girlfriend 38 times in front of her two little children when she threatens to turn him into authorities for the Brazilian murder.”
According to the Associated Press, Cavalcante crab walked through the prison’s recreation yard before climbing over razor wire, running across a roof, and jumping on the ground. State police Lt. Col. George Bivens said he got through the secured perimeter via drainage ditches and underground tunnels.
Despite multiple sightings Grace said they are “not getting any closer” to finding Cavalcante — which concerns her due to his violent history.
“Either he’s going to stay in the woods. He’s lived in the Brazilian jungle for months he knows what to do. Or he’s going to get out of the woods to get another vehicle or food,” she said. “Look at his track record. He’s either going to stay in the woods or go into someone’s home. ”
