Human remains found burning near a Tennessee airport last week were identified as a woman who vanished days earlier, police said.
Dominique Lomax, 27, was last seen on September 4 at the Highland Meadows apartments in Memphis. Two days later, her body was discovered near the airport after a fire was put out, according to TK.
Lomax’s boyfriend allegedly told police that he dropped off Lomax to meet someone named Rico. He claimed Lomax texted him that she was about to walk in somewhere, but she never responded after he asked where, according to WREG.
WMC reported that Lomax’s sister said she called her phone and a man answered who said he discovered Lomax’s phone while doing yard work. Police said the sister and man met up so he could give her Lomax’s phone.
Lomax’s body was located a mile-and-a-half from where she was last seen alive. Reports indicated that Lomax was reported missing in 2021 after she was taken from a car by her boyfriend.
