Two Kansas women who vanished earlier this month were reportedly found dead in Colorado on Wednesday.
Linda Estrada, 44, was reported missing from Emporia on September 11, leading investigators to learn Estrada was with Amy Ford, 39, the previous weekend. Ford was reported missing shortly thereafter, according to The Emporia Gazette.
Emporia police reportedly used surveillance footage and cell phone data to track Ford and Estrada to Colorado. Authorities there spent five days searching with dogs, airplanes, and drones before discovering their bodies in a rural area.
A person of interest in this case is in custody on an unrelated charge. That individual, who has not been publicly identified, is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
