A Utah man has been charged with murder after he called 911 to report he’d just killed his wife.
Brent Gilbert, 58, was booked into the Duchesne County Jail on an aggravated murder charge on Thursday, KUTV reported.
Deputies responding to Gilbert’s 911 call from Stacy Gilbert dead with multiple wounds at their home in the Arcadia area. A probably cause statement said she had injuries from an unknown firearm, but the document also said “there was a 12-gauge pump action shotgun located leaning against the wall outside the bedroom door that contained blood and fibers on the barrel.”
No further information was released.
Brent Gilbert was treated at Uintah Basin Medical Center for a self-inflicted injury to his wrist before he was booked into jail, where he was being held without bond, according to the Gephardt Daily.
