A California mom of 3 was stabbed to death this week when she asked a couple doing drugs beneath her children’s bedroom window to move.
Shawna Weems was rushed to a hospital with multiple stab wounds after the incident on Monday, where she later died, KABC reported.
According to the Hemet Police Department, 27-year-old Autumn Goodwin was arrested on Friday and is being held on a $1 million bond.
Police said they worked with the Hemet/San Jacinto Gang Task Force and the Riverside County Gang Impact Team to find Goodwin. Police said nothing about the whereabouts of the man who was at the scene during the incident.
A friend told KABC that Weems “would do anything for her kids, to protect them, so that they didn’t have to see things.”
KCAL reported a witness saying that the incident escalated into a shouting match before the stabbing. The couple were believed to have fled in an RV.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact Hemet Det. Daniel Cortez at 951-765-2433.
