Three South Carolina businesses have settled a wrongful death suit with the estate of Samantha Miller, the 34-year-old newlywed killed by an alleged drunk driver who slammed into the golf cart carrying her and her husband away from their Folly Beach wedding reception.

Aric Hutchinson, the new husband, and two other people suffered serious injuries in the crash, CrimeOnline reported.

The Crab Shack and The Folly Deli (dba The Drop In Bar & Deli) — bars where Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, had been drinking before the crash — and Progressive Northern Insurance Company have agreed to offer settlements, although the amounts have not been made public, according to WCBD.

The companies will also pay attorneys’ fees in the amount of 33 and 1/3 percent of the total settlement and any other relief the court decrees if it approves the settlements.

Miller and Hutchinson were married on April 28 on Folly Beach. After the reception, the couple boarded the golf cart and had gone a short distance away when Komoroski’s vehicle hit them from behind. Miller was thrown from the cart and killed instantly. Hutchinson and two other family members were hospitalized.

Komoroski is in jail awaiting trial on multiple charges. Several other bars, along with Komoroski, are also defendants in the wrongul death lawsuit filed by Hutchinson as the representative of Miller’s estate. None of the other defendants have offered a settlement.
