Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was found on a popular Vermont trail on Thursday.
CBS reported that a call led to state police discovering an unidentified woman deceased on the Delaware and Hudson Rail Trail in Castleton. A witness recalled hearing gunshots and seeing a man walking on the trail.
The suspect has not been identified, but authorities said he is considered armed and dangerous. He was described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and having dark-colored, short hair. He was reportedly wearing a dark gray T-shirt and carrying a black backpack.
