A Nevada prosecutor was arrested Friday and charged with trying to lure a child for sex.
Clark County Deputy District Attorney Tanner Castro was arrested in Henderson, the Las Vegas Review Journal said, quoting the Henderson Justice Court website.
A police spokeswoman could not confirm details of Castro’s arrest, and his attorney, Craig Hendricks, declined comment. The newspaper was unable to reach Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson for comment.
Castro’s LinkedIn page says he began work as a prosecutor last month and previously was a clerk in the district attorney’s office from March to September. He graduated the University of Nevada Las Vegas’s William S. Boyd School of Law in May 2022.
Court records showed the charges involved luring or attempting to lure a child online and attempted statutory sexual seduction. He was released on bond and is due back in court on November 11.
