Initial Coverage

An Amber Alert has been issued in Georgia for two young girls taken from a Columbus Burger King Sunday morning.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says that Kylie Horne, 11, and Kylann Harper, 4, were taken from the fast food restaurant just before noon by Mikaela Harrell, 49.

The girls are believed to be in “extreme danger,” police said.

Horne is described as 4 feet 9 inches tall and 75 pounds with straight, shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweatpants, and white crocs.

Harper is described as 3 feet 4 inches tall and 35 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink long-sleeved shirt and pants.

Harrell is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 138 pounds with straight hair.

She was last seen in a 2011 blue/gray Honda CRV SUV with a Georgia tag TGS7835, but Columbus Police say they are now believed to be in a gold 2004 Lexus with Georgia tag number SBZ8631. The Honda is still a vehicle of interest.

They were initially said to be traveling toward Ocilla, but that is no longer on the notices.

Police named a second suspect as Kaila Spires, but have not made clear the relationship between the suspects and the girls.

Anyone with information should call the Columbus Police Department at 706-225-4366.
