Last week, a Florida man was found unfit to stand trial for killing his 2-year-old son and his son’s mother in March.
Thomas Mosley, 21, allegedly stabbed Pashun Jeffery, 20, more than 100 times at her St. Petersburg apartment — where she was found dead a day before the body of her son, Taylen Mosley, was found in an alligator’s mouth at Lake Maggiore. A court hearing is scheduled for April to revisit whether Thomas Mosley is competent to be tried on first-degree murder charges.
Police said Taylen Mosley drowned, and his father either threw or placed him in the lake, according to WFLA.
Prosecutors said evidence places Thomas Mosley at both crime scenes. WTSP reported that his bloody fingerprint was found on a cleaning bottle under a bed at the victims’ home.
Police also said that hours after killing Jeffery, Thomas Mosley went to the hospital with injuries consistent with “slippage during a knife attack.”
Thomas Mosley pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in May. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in this case.
