‘He was innocent’: Dad Shakes Life Out of Preemie Son at Hospital

A North Carolina man who allegedly murdered his 3-week-old son this month allegedly did so while the baby was in the NICU.

Noah Bliss’ 3-week-old son reportedly suffered fatal brain swelling and a brain bleed at WakeMe in Raliegh on October 6. Bliss’ wife told WRAL that their twin son and daughter were born prematurely on September 15 — and their son never got to go home.

Bliss’ wife also alleged that her husband shook their 3-week-old son as she visited their daughter at the NICU on another floor. Bliss, 33, was reportedly also watching their 1-year-old child when he inflicted the fatal injuries

WRAL reported that the family was living in WakeMed’s Heart Center Inn, which provides housing to families as their loved ones receive treatment in the hospital downstairs.

The 3-week-old was taken off of life support on Monday, the same day as Bliss’ arrest. The newborn reportedly suffered no external injuries, but he was deprived of oxygen due to extensive head trauma.

“I just want justice for my son,” the slain baby’s mother told WRAL. “He was innocent.”

Jailed without bond, Bliss is charged with first-degree murder and intentional child abuse with serious bodily injury. He is due back in court in November.
