An Ohio social worker accused of having sex with a 13-year-old boy she was counseling and threatening his mother with a gun had a toddler and once approvingly posted a video noting that “dead pedophiles don’t reoffend.”
Payton Shires posted to Twitter.com on July 20, 2021 — her last post to the account — “Own a house, have 3 dogs, got engaged, and have a 1 year old all at 21. So proud of these accomplishments.”

The “dead pedophiles” post was a September 3, 2020, repost of someone else’s video showing the window sticker on a vehicle. The sticker also included a #savethechildren hashtag.
Another post celebrated a new tattoo: “2 Thessalonians 2:8-10, verses that talk about the destruction of “the wicked.”
Shires, 24, was charged earlier this month with sexual conduct with a minor after she was seen in a video having sex with the boy and allegedly admitted to engaging in multiple sex acts with the teen, whom she was assigned to serve as a mental health counselor, as CrimeOnline reported. She had received her social worker license in June.
After she was released on a $500,000 bond and ordered to stay away from the boy, she did exactly the opposite and went to the victim’s home on October 26 with a gun. According to court documents, she told the victim’s mother — who wasn’t home but saw Shires on a doorbell camera and called police — that she wanted to kill her and herself “because she and the victim ruined her life and took everything from her.”
Police arrived 10 minutes later and found Shires sitting on the front porch, holding a gun to her head with her finger on the trigger. She was charged with two counts of intimidating a witness. The initial bond was revoked and $100,000 added to it with a stipulation that she not possess a firearm. She is due in court on those counts on November 6, according to jail records, which reveal she remains behind bars.
Earlier posts on the Twitter.com account include multiple posts about the dogs she and her boyfriend collection, calling them her children, up until her son was born on December 27, 2019. All mention of the dogs ends at that point, although they do occasionally show up on the edge of photograph. Instead, Shires posted dozens of selfies and images of her son and occasional snapshots including her boyfriend.
It’s not clear what might have happened after the July 20, 2021, post. News reports have not commented on a boyfriend or a wedding or said where her toddler son was placed.
