A 19-year-old Virginia man has been charged with murder and child abuse after the death of his infant son.
According to WTTG, Stafford County deputies were called to the home shortly after noon on Friday for a medical emergency. They found the 3 month old boy unresponsive and took him to a hospital, where he died.
The medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide, and his father, Dallas Bowling, was arrested and charged with second degree murder and child abuse.
Bowling is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Stafford County Fire and Rescue said that the suspect was an employee of the department and has been placed on administrative leave.
Authorities did not provide further information.
