A Texas man ambushed his estranged wife Tuesday night, shooting her dead as she got home from work in Katy.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said they were dispatched to the scene at about 11 p.m. on a home invasion call, because after shooting his 35-year-old wife in the driveway, the husband forced his way into the home and stabbed a 25-year-old woman inside.
Deputies found the 41-year-old murderer dead from suicide about a mile away, KTRK said.
The woman who was stabbed remained in the hospital on Wednesday but was expected to survive, and three children at home at the time — ages 16, 13, and 7 — were not physically injured.
Police have not released the names of the victims or their attacker or described the connection between the two adult women.
Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Greg Pinkins said there had been prior domestic violence calls involving the couple, but he provided no further information.
