GLAM YOGA TEACHER TRIAL: Beloved Cyclist Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson was Shot in Head and Chest, Investigator Testifies

The professional bicyclist whom Kaitlin Armstrong allegedly murdered as part of a love triangle was shot twice in the head and once in her chest, an investigator testified Thursday in the second day of the accused killer’s trial, the Austin American-Statesman reports.

Armstrong is facing a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 25-year-old Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson, who was found dead on May 11, 2022, at a friend’s apartment in Austin, Texas.

Authorities allege that Armstrong, 35, gunned down Wilson after she met up with Armstrong’s boyfriend, Colin Strickland, who also raced bikes. Wilson and Strickland had dated briefly while Strickland and Armstrong were separated temporarily.

On Thursday, Austin Police Department Sgt. Timothy Price testified that he saw Wilson’s body on the floor of a bathroom upon entering the apartment.

Price said a medical examiner observed various injuries to Wilson’s body and found a projectile in her hair. That same medical examiner, Price said, explained the gunshot wounds that Wilson suffered. One of the bullets hit the left side of her face, a second bullet struck her right temple and a third bullet was shot through her chest.

David Harris, the apartment’s landlord, told jurors he heard someone quickly move downstairs on the evening of the shooting. Also Thursday, Det. Rolando Ramirez and two crime scene specialists testified and jurors were shown images of the crime scene.

A bicycle found in a patch of grass near the apartment also was displayed in the courtroom on Thursday. A witness said the bicycle belonged to Wilson, according to NewsNation.

The trial started Wednesday, with prosecutors playing a security camera recording they said contained audio of Wilson screaming before gunshots were heard.

“The last thing Mo did on this earth was scream in terror,” Travis County prosecutor Rickey Jones said in opening statements, according to CBS News. “Those screams are followed by ‘pop,’ ‘pop!’ You won’t hear any more screams after that.”

Shortly after Wilson was found dead, Armstrong fled the country and was later arrested in Costa Rica, where she was teaching yoga under a fake identity.

Armstrong also is charged with second-degree felony escape causing bodily injury after attempting to escape from corrections officers while at a medical appointment in October. Officers chased her for 10 minutes before she was caught.
