Missing Nurse Found Dead in Airport Garage, Murdered by Boyfriend Who Fled Country: Police

Massachusetts police believe a woman who was found fatally stabbed on Wednesday, two days after her reported disappearance, was killed by her boyfriend.

Margaret Mbitu was found with lacerations to her face, neck, and side in her boyfriend’s bloody car at Logan Airport’s central parking garage. Suspect Kevin Kangethe, 40, purchased plane tickets to Kenya on Tuesday to leave the country the following day, according to the Boston Globe.

Kangethe’s car was reportedly seen on surveillance footage in Lowell and Chelsea — corresponding with Mbitu’s cell phone GPS data. Footage also showed Kangethe leaving the airport parking garage on Wednesday before boarding a flight to Kenya, the Boston Globe reported.
