Two Texas teenagers have been charged with the murder of another teen found dead in a Pasadena park.
The body of Nathaniel Navarro was found Thursday night after his mother tracked his cell phone to Satsuma Park. Police officers and medical personnel found his body along a fence line in a wooded area, KPRC reported.
Cruz Martinez, 18, was charged with capital murder and tampering with evidence. Serenity Delgado, 17, was charged with the same counts.
Police said Martinez shot and killed Navarro while he and Delgado were trying to rob him and then hid the body in the park.
Court records say one or two other people appeared to have been involved, but they have not been arrested, KHOU reported.
Police said Navarro was shot outside his vehicle and got into it to attempt to drive away, but crashed into a tree. The suspects dragged his body out and across the park to the wooded area and moved his vehicle into a parking spot.
Court records say Martinez was out on bond at the time on charges of DUI and unlawful possession of a weapon. He appeared in court Sunday night and was denied bond on the murder charge. Delgado was arrested on Sunday and has not yet been arraigned.
