A new video has emerged involving the son of a prominent Hollywood executive who is suspected of murdering and dismembering his wife, whose parents are also missing.
Prosecutors have charged 35-year-old Samuel Haskell with murder after allegedly linking him to body parts found Wednesday near a Los Angeles-area dumpster believed to belong to his wife, 37-year-old Mei Haskell.
Video obtained by TMZ shows that at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a white shirt, who appears to be Samuel Haskell, flagged down a blue truck in front of his home in Tarzana.
Several minutes later, several men can be seen in the video carrying what looked like large garbage bags down the driveway and loading the bags into a truck.
The laborers left the residence, but they did not go far. Suspecting something was amiss, the laborers opened at least one of the bags and found human body parts, including what appeared to be a belly button, NBC4 reports.
At 4:15 p.m., surveillance footage shows the laborers return to Haskell’s house and return the bags. The men told NBC4 they gave Haskell his money back. Haskell can be seen leaving the property at 4:22 p.m. in a white Tesla.
The laborers told NBC4 they went directly to police what had just happened. Officers were sent to the home on Tuesday but did not see anything that would have allowed them to enter the house, according to ABC7.
On Wednesday, a homeless person found dismembered body parts stuffed inside a bag near a dumpster about 6 miles from Haskell’s house near a strip mall. Authorities determined that the body parts include the torso of a woman.
Meanwhile, Mei’s parents – 64-year-old Yanxiang Wang and 71-year-old Gaoshen Li – are missing. Wang and Li lived with their daughter and son-in-law, who have three children.
Two vehicles are also missing: a white Volkswagen Tiguan, license plate 9ANC890, and a white 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, license plate 7FRM190, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Investigators have found blood and other evidence in the home that are consistent with murder. Haskell is in custody and being held in the Van Nuys Jail on $2 million bail.
Haskell is the son of Samuel Haskell III, a powerful Hollywood agent who has represented major celebrities including Dolly Parton, George Clooney and Ray Romano.
