Multiple people were shot Friday afternoon at a New Hampshire state psychiatric hospital in Concord, but officials said the suspect was dead and the situation “contained.”
Officials from the New Hampsire State Police and the state Department of Homeland Security said the situation at New Hampshire Hospital was under control by 4:45 p.m., WBTS reported.
Investigators have not said how many people were shot or indicated the severity of their injuries.
The shooting was contained to the front lobby of the facility, which had about 150 beds occupied., officials said
“This afternoon, there was an incident at New Hampshire Hospital, which has been contained,” Gov. Chris Sununu said in a statement. “While the scene remains active as the campus is cleared, the suspect is deceased. The state immediately mobilized, and first responders and law enforcement are on the scene. We will provide as many details as possible as this situation unfolds.”
Authorities are expected to hold another briefing later Friday.
