A California man who advertised himself as “the original Sitter Buddy” and a “manny” on his website was sentenced to more than 700 years in prison for sexually assaulting 16 young boys in his care and showing another child pornography.
Matthew Antonio Zakrzewski, 34, also filmed many of the assaults on the young boys, ranging in age from two to 12, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Zakrzewski was originally arrested in May 2019 after investigators located two victims, a number that quickly jumped to six with detectives certain there were more victims, as CrimeOnline reported.
He was initially charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14, one count of oral copulation of a child under 10, and possession of child pornography. Additional charges followed as investigators identified more victims.
Zakrzewski was eventually charged with 34 counts, including 27 counts of lew and lascivious acts, two counts of oral copulation with a child, possession of child pornography, usinga minor for sex acts, distributing pornography to a minor for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct, and attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a minor.
A jury found him guilty on all counts.
Victim impact statements were emotional, ranging from outrage to heartbreak. For his part, Zakrezewski never apologized and told the court that “all the good times” he shared with the children “were 100 percent genuine.” Several parents covered their ears and sobbed when he spoke.
