A 10-year-old Texas boy who vanished after his mother was found murdered inside their home has been found in Mexico and reunited with his family in the United States.
Ian Aguilar’s mother, Zoleika Arzate-Lopez, 48, was found dead on November 14 by her daughter, and an Amber Alert was issued for the boy, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
Wilmer Police investigators said they believed he was taken by his father, 38-year-old Juan Aguilar-Cano, who was also the suspect in Arzate-Lopez’s death.
“This results from countless hours of hard work and investigation by many law enforcement agencies, support groups, and their counterparts on both the U.S. and Mexico sides of the border,” Wilmer police said in a statement.
Aguilar was reunited with his sister, Zuri Lopez, and other family members on Saturday, WFAA reported.
Aguilar-Cano is still wanted for Arzate-Lopez’s death. Investigators didn’t say if they believe that he is in Mexico.
